All QLD Landlords must ensure that smoke alarms are installed in rented properties and compliant to new amendments to the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services Act 1990.
- Landlords must ensure Smoke Alarms are:
- Installed in every bedroom
- Installed on every level
- Powered by either 240 volt or 10-year lithium battery
- Interconnected to each other
- Must be photoelectric rather than ionisation
- Must comply with AS3786:2014
