As you may be aware the New Smoke Alarm Legislation is fast approaching and we need to ensure your properties are compliant before the deadline! All properties in Queensland must be upgraded by 31 December 2021.

All QLD Landlords must ensure that smoke alarms are installed in rented properties and compliant to new amendments to the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services Act 1990.

  •  Landlords must ensure Smoke Alarms are:
  • Installed in every bedroom
  • Installed on every level
  • Powered by either 240 volt or 10-year lithium battery
  • Interconnected to each other
  • Must be photoelectric rather than ionisation
  • Must comply with AS3786:2014
