Your suburb profile by Running Property
Bray Park (4500) is a residential suburb of the Pine Rivers district, situated about 20 kilometres north west of the Brisbane CBD. Sited immediately north of Strathpine, the suburb is currently home to more than 10,000 residents.
Bray Park was original known as Strathpine West until 1970, when newly planned housing developments called for a new suburb name, which was taken from former Shire councillor John Bray. The name was somewhat slow to catch on, but by 1975 local schools and railway stations had been renamed to reflect the new appellation.
Today Bray Park boasts many recreation spaces include the Four Mile Creek park along the suburb’s southern boundary, John Bray Park, and the Les Hughes sporting complex on the northern side that features rugby, baseball, and netball facilities.
The area is well-supplied with shopping centres and areas, including the major Westfield shopping centres at Strathpine, Chermside, and the growing North Lakes shopping district just a short drive away.
Data from realestate.com.au shows that the median Bray Park house price was $390K in 2016. For investment property owners, Bray Park offers a median rent for houses of $380 per week, and the median rent for units $290 per week. Rental demand for both houses and units is high.
